Barbara Harris is a former deputy sheriff for
Charlotte-Mecklenburg County who for health reasons is now on
disability. Barbara served with the Sheriff's Department for 11
years before she was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis, a heart condition, and fibromyalgia. Due to her conditions, Barbara's activities are limited, but
she is an avid reader, supports her daughter Brianna in her activities,
and loves playing with her dog Ginger when her health permits.
Brianna Harris, 11, is an energetic sixth-grader. She
enjoys cheerleading, basketball and watching television. In her
spare time she models professionally. Additionally, she participates
as a member of the Step Team and other clubs at school, and loves to
play with her dog.
"Ginger The Dog" is a Labrador-Husky mix with a lot of
personality and attitude. She enjoys eating human food and playing
with her family. Her all-time favorite snack is chicken.
